Christina Applegate is most famous for her portrayal of Kelly bundy on the Fox Tv Series “Married With Children”. The series aired from 1987 and 1997. Married With Children and The Simpsons were the two staples for the then new FOX network. Although the characters portrayed were dimwitted and dysfuntional the cast was talented and also included Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal as Al and Peggy Bundy. “Married With Children” was considered a grounbreaking show as it showed an American family as it was never portrayed before.

Christina Applegate did a remarkable job portraying Kelly Bundy who for the most part was a dumb blonde. It’s been traditionally difficult for child actors to continue their careers into adulthood. It appeared impossible for Christina Applegate.

After “Married With CHildren” NBC gave Christina her own comedy vehicle called “Jesse” from 1998-2000. Although “Jesse” struggled to find a groove it did showcase Christina as a talented comedic actress and allowed her to bust free from the Kelly Bundy stereotype.

In 2002 she starred in “The Sweetest Thing” with Cameron Diaz. She also starred in “View From The Top” with Gwyneth Paltrow. On of her recent hits was the role of Veronica Corningstone in “Anchorman” with Will Ferrell.

In May 2005 Christina mader her Broadway debut in the revival “Sweet Charity” which ended it’s run at the end of 2005. I was in NYC December 2005 and it was fun to see Christina Applegate on a marquee.

Christina was married to Johnathon Schaech from 2001-2005.
