Angelina Jolie is considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful actresses. Joie began to rise to major prominence in when she portrayed Lisa Rowe in 1999’s “Girl Interrupted”. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this role. That same year she was voted one of people magazines 50 most beautiful people.
Her next huge break came when she was selected to play Lara Croft in “Tomb Raider”. It was an opportunity to propel herself into super stardom with a major franchise role. Upon the release of Tomb Raider Jolie’s popularity sky rocketed.
She also starred in the sequel to Tomb Raider called “The Cradle of Life”
Jolie is very comfortable in her own skin. One of Angelina’s earlier movies “Gia”, in which she portrayed Gia Carangi has Jolie nude in just about every other scene. She was once again was in her birthday suit in 2001’s “Original Sin” with Antonio Banderas.
In a very unscientific survey woman would consider switch hitting to be with Jolie, more so than just about any other celebrity.
Jolie also had a role in 2004’s “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow”. This movie was filmed entirely with the actors in front of a green screen. It was an interesting movie from the visual standpoint.
Angelina Jolie is a favorite target of the tabloids. There was the time she went to the Oscars with her brother and was kissing him with a little more zeal than one should kiss a relative.Then there was the time when she wore a vile of then husband Billy Bob Thorton. Her prior husband was Jonny Lee Miller.
As most of the free world knows she is currently involved with Brad Pitt who she began her relationship with during the filming of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, whicl also starred Jennifer Morrison. Jolie has been blamed for the divorce of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Pitt and Jolie became known as Brangelina. They have two adopted children.
During the filming of Tomb Raider Jolie became involved in global humanitarian issues. For the past six years Jolie has donated countless hours and millions of dollars toward humanitarian causes. I am actually quite impressed with the dedication that Angelina and Brad Pitt have demonstrated towards their cause. It seem like they have spent the past year in foreign countries while jetting back to the states for obligatory appearances at award shows.
Angelina’s next role will be in “A Mighty Heart”. Other than that there aren’t too many major projects on her plate.
